Ty Mynyddislwyn Environment Centre

Groundwork Caerphilly was successful in its bid to the BIG Lottery Fund’s Community Asset Transfer (CAT) programme and has been able to complete the purchase of its premises, Ty Mynyddislwyn, in early 2011. Further funding from the Welsh Government’s CFAP scheme (Communities Facilities and Activities Programme) has provided additional support towards the refurbishment of the existing building.

Due to complete in October 2011 the Environment Centre will consist of a new work-shop area, practical classrooms and a new store room all of which Groundwork Caerphilly aims to open  to community groups, schools and other interested parties.

The Centre will include a demonstration bay and two separate incubation units - which will assist in supporting local craft enterprises. The refurbishment of the existing offices will include improvements to lighting, cabling and provide access to those with disabilities. The main offices will accommodate a technology suite, meeting rooms and a training room - all available for use by community groups and partner agencies.
