Schools

Groundwork works with schools to deliver innovative environmental education, transform school grounds and re-engage disaffected young people into education.

Our work with schoolchildren in school links to the national curriculum and helps to illustrate how our individual actions can make a difference to the local and global environment.

Teachers get training and support to deliver education for sustainable development and we teach children about their responsibilities to the environment.

We have pupil-led projects to improve the environmental performance of school buildings and grounds and link with the community to educate children about local history and biodiversity.

We also work with schools to support ‘at risk’ young people, providing them with positive experiences and building the skills that will allow them to move forwards with education, employment or training.
