Groundwork Merthyr & Rhondda Cynon Taff was founded in 1985 and has been at the forefront of regeneration within the Merthyr, Rhondda and Cynon Valleys.
Building successful partnerships with local authorities and communities has been key to our success.
As with all Groundwork Trusts, the breadth of our projects and services reflect the communities we serve.
The regeneration of the South Wales Valleys, and particularly the Heads of the Valleys area, is a priority for the Welsh Assembly, local authorities and partner agencies.
The progress we have made in communities such as Fernhill (near Aberdare) and Gurnos (on the outskirts of Merthyr Tydfil) have delivered innovative interventions that have had a real benefit for people living there.
Our portfolio of environmental work ranges from our Greencare service, providing environmental projects for communities, through to development of the Taff Bargoed Millennium Park.
Our Loops and Links project continues to be a leading initiative in the development of the South Wales Valleys as a tourism destination.
Groundwork Merthyr & Rhondda Cynon Taff is part of Groundwork in Wales, a leading local, regional and national environmental regeneration network building sustainable communities across Wales.
