Lewis Glass of Buckley have kindly donated waterproofs to the Etna Park Activities scheme run by Groundwork North Wales to help keep people exercising whatever the weather!  The scheme established in 2007 in partnership with Flintshire Countryside Services runs all ability cycling, nordic walking, fishing, orienteering skills, camping skills, tai chi and arts and craft sessions.

The photograph includes some members of the team at Tri Ffordd, who were the first group to use the waterproofs during a fishing taster programme they attended at Etna Park.  Tri Ffordd is part of Flintshire County Councils Community Services Directorate and provides day service provision for Adults with Learning Disabilities. The group remained dry during the heavy downpours and enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the outdoor environment in Buckley.

Sarah Thomas Cadburys Community Games & Volunteer Coordinator, of Groundwork North Wales said, “It is our aim through the programme to encourage people of all abilities to take part in exercise in the beautiful natural outdoor environment in and around Etna Park.  I would like to thank Lewis Glass for their kind contribution in helping people to stay warm and dry.  Many individuals do not have suitable waterproofs and this donation will keep people motivated and exercising over the colder & wetter periods.”

Carole Czachur, Senior Instructor at Tri Fordd said, “ The fishing taster programme was the latest of many enjoyable activity sessions organised by Groundwork  North Wales and attended by individuals from Tri Ffordd.  The waterproofs were particularly valuable during our recent visits when the rain did not dampen people’s enthusiasm or enjoyment”.
