Schools

Groundwork North Wales works with schools to deliver innovative environmental education, transform school grounds and re-engage disaffected young people into education.

We have our own Environmental Education Centre at our site in Tanyfron, Wrexham complete with beautiful outdoor classrooms and woodlands where we offer curriculum based environmental and cultural education programmes.

Our work with schoolchildren in school links to the national curriculum and helps to illustrate how our individual actions can make a difference to the local and global environment.

We help schools develop the right outdoor environment at their school often helping schools to develop areas for growing fruit and vegetables, outdoor classrooms, forest schools areas, willow sculpture and story telling areas. We work in partnership with the pupils and teachers ensuring they are fully involved in the whole project to ensure the schools get the best out door space.

We also work with schools to support ‘at risk’ young people, providing them with positive experiences and building the skills that will allow them to move forwards with education, employment or training.
